HOW?

The Foro Boario makes the perfect setting where the designers will show their talent and will be able to promote and sell their creations. During the entire weekend the visitors and the potential buyers will be in direct contact with the designers, the professionals responsible for the entire production process of the objects exhibited.

Such an opportunity makes the event richer under a cultural point of view, encouraging both the exhibitors and the visitors to exchange their knowledge and information about the products and its manufacture.
Exhibition booths will be set inside the Foro Boario; there will also be an area to hold conferences and debates and a playroom for children will be provided.

The urban areas in the cities of Modena and Bologna, thanks to the cooperation of both private and public institutions, will be the background of parallel activities for many artists and designers.
As off-site locations, galleries, shops and studios may take part in the event organising exhibitions, hosting installations and art performances thematically dealing with design. In the same way the institutions will conceive an event that will expand the format in public areas to ensure its high visibility and free fruition.

The Event

WHEN?

The first edition of Open Design Italia will take place the 19th, 20th and 21st of November 2010.
From Friday to Sunday the exhibition will be open throughout the course of the day, while the off-site events program will have already started in the previous days.

WHERE?

The location of the first edition of Open Design Italia will be the Foro Boario in Modena, an amazing historical building and a great landmark of the city. Much renowned for its function throughut the centuries, today the Foro Boario is the headquarters of the Economic Department “Marco Biagi” of the University of Modena. The place has recently been renovated with particular care to make it the ideal venue for many different types of events.

The Foro Boario will host the main exhibition of the format, while the calendar of the off-sites activities will involve both the urban areas of Modena and Bologna (which will become the focal point of the exhibition in the 2011 edition).
